The Marion Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce the finalists for the 2019 Young Professional Leader Award. Amanda Newlin, along with Laura Chairez and Tyler Young, have been nominated for this year's award. Our finalists have been nominated by fellow chamber members and selected by the Awards Committee.
Amanda Newlin grew up in West Frankfort, and resides there with her husband Cale, children William and Lelia, and dog Toby. She is a graduate of John A Logan College and Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Her career has centered around working with the public from her time at John a Logan to her current position at Heartland Regional Medical Group where she is the Growth and Development Coordinator.
Newlin is involved with numerous organizations that give back to the community, including the Salvation Army and 5K on the Runway. She helps to develop fellow leaders through her work with the Southern Illinois Professional Management Association (SIPMA), where she was the organization President in 2019. Additionalls, she teaches women's studies and book clubs, volunteers in the children’s and special needs ministries at Second Baptist Church in West Frankfort, is an avid reader, and decorates cakes for family and friends.
She has been involved with various chambers of commerce throughout her career and serves on numerous committees within the Marion Chamber of Commerce, including the Marketing Committee and Golf Scramble Committee. She is also a member of the Marion Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and a Chamber Ambassador. The winner of the Young Professional Leader Award will be announced during the 99th annual Marion Chamber of Commerce Awards Banquet & Auction on Friday, January 17 at The Pavilion.
