Hello, this is actress Marion Ross, and welcome to the Marion, Illinois Chamber of Commerce website. Chances are you know me best as the TV mom on some terrific TV shows like Happy Days, The Drew Carey Show, and most recently on Gilmore Girls

But what you maybe didn't know is that I’m also the commercial spokesperson for Marion, Illinois. WE spell our names the same, M-A-R-I-O-N, and it was while surfing the net that the marketing folks with the Marion Chamber of Commerce stumbled upon the similar spelling of our names. The rest, as they say, is history.

Imagine my surprise when I learned that the wonderful city of Marion, Illinois was interested in ME being their spokesperson! It was just too cute, but before associating my name with any product, I knew I had to learn more. So, they flew me to Marion, welcomed me with open arms, and spent the next few days educating me on the wonderful things Marion, Illinois has to offer developers, entrepreneurs, and tourists.

Well, in no time, I was won over by the wonderful people of Marion, Illinois (of course, seeing my name MARION on everything from the water tower to places of business didn’t hurt either) and now I want you to discover this wonderful Southern Illinois city as well.
